About Asset Delivery System
What is Asset Delivery System
The Asset Delivery System is Reprtoir’s unified infrastructure for delivering assets to Digital Service Providers (DSPs) and Distributors through multiple technical channels. It centralizes the entire delivery workflow and ensures that your audio files, artwork, and metadata are prepared, validated, and transmitted according to industry requirements.
While many deliveries rely on DDEX feeds, the system also supports third-party APIs and exportable delivery packages that can be uploaded directly to external distributor interfaces.
This flexibility allows Reprtoir to support a wide range of operational setups used in the music industry, from fully automated direct integrations to hybrid or manual delivery models, all within a single standardized workflow.
Concept
In the Asset Delivery System, Albums and Tracks contain the metadata and media required for delivery, including audio files and artwork.
A Release is created from an Album and defines the delivery parameters, such as the target Recipient (DSP or Distributor), authorized territories, pre-order date, and release date.
The Asset Delivery System supports three distinct Delivery Channels. Each channel represents a different technical and contractual path used to deliver a Release to a DSP or Distributor.
Delivery Structure
- Reprtoir Distribution → one Release per DSP
- Direct-to-DSP Delivery → one Release per DSP
- Direct-to-Distributor Delivery → one Release per Distributor (with DSP-level details completed on the distributor side when necessary)
This structure ensures accurate tracking and independent processing of each delivery instance.
Supported Delivery Channels
The Asset Delivery System supports three Delivery Channels. Each channel depends entirely on your licensing situation with DSPs and distributors, and all channels rely on the same metadata structure, validation workflow, and delivery logic inside Reprtoir.
◼ 1. Reprtoir Distribution
Reprtoir Distribution applies when you do not hold direct licensing agreements with DSPs. Reprtoir manages the technical delivery process, while you retain full control over metadata, territories, updates, and takedowns directly from your Workspace. Reprtoir Distribution focuses solely on delivery operations and does not include marketing or promotional services.
◼ 2. Direct-to-DSP Delivery
Direct-to-DSP Delivery applies when your organization already holds licensing agreements with DSPs. Reprtoir connects your Workspace to DSPs via compliant integrations such as DDEX feeds, APIs, and other supported protocols.
◼ 3. Direct-to-Distributor Delivery
Direct-to-Distributor Delivery applies when you already work with external distributors such as The Orchard or Believe. Reprtoir generates complete delivery packages — metadata, audio files, artwork, and folder structures — ready to upload into their bulk delivery systems.
Combining Delivery Channels
Depending on your licensing situation, you may use several Delivery Channels at the same time.
For example, if you hold direct licensing agreements with Spotify and Apple Music, you can deliver to these DSPs using Direct-to-DSP Delivery, while relying either on Reprtoir Distribution or on your current distributor for all other DSPs.
You may also set up more complex configurations. For instance, you can deliver to certain DSPs under your own direct agreements, use Reprtoir Distribution for platforms not covered by your contracts, and rely on another partner for fingerprinting or UGC-related services.
This configuration allows you to:
- maintain consistent metadata and release workflows across all deliveries,
- deliver directly where you hold active licensing agreements,
- use Reprtoir Distribution for DSPs not covered by your deals,
- rely on your external distributor for DSPs managed under an existing distribution agreement,
- centralize all delivery operations, as well as related processes such as accounting, within your Reprtoir Workspace.
This flexibility is enabled by the design of the Asset Delivery System, which supports independent delivery instances and a unified workflow across all Delivery Channels. It adapts to any licensing configuration and does not impose restrictions on how Delivery Channels can be combined, provided you comply with the contractual rules that govern your agreements with your partners.
