PopularityThe Track Spotify Popularity metric measures how well-known a Track is on the Spotify platform. It ranges from 0 to 100, with 100 being the most popular. This value is determined by an algorithm that considers factors such as the number of streams and the number of saves on the Spotify platform. This information is regularly updated and can provide valuable insights into a Track's popularity and reach on the platform.
ExplicitWhether or not the Track contains explicit lyrics.
The Explicit attribute is a binary value indicating whether a Track contains Explicit Lyrics. It can be either "Yes" or "No". This information can help filter out Explicit Content when playing music in specific settings.
KeyThe key of the Track. Integers map to pitches using standard Pitch Class notation. E.g., 0 = C, 1 = C♯/D♭, 2 = D, and so on.
ModeThe Mode indicates a Track's modality (major or minor), the type of scale from which its melodic content is derived. Major is represented by 1 and minor by 0.
Time SignatureAn estimated overall time signature of a Track. The time signature (meter) is a notational convention to specify how many beats are in each bar (or measure).
TempoThe overall estimated tempo of a Track in beats per minute (BPM). In musical terminology, the tempo is the speed or pace of a given piece and derives directly from the average beat duration.
LoudnessThe overall loudness of a Track in decibels (dB). Loudness values are averaged across the entire Track and help compare the relative loudness of Tracks. Loudness is the quality of a sound that is the primary psychological correlate of physical strength (amplitude). Values typically range between -60 and 0 dB.
AcousticnessAcousticness measures how acoustic a Track is. The score ranges from 0 to 1, with 1 indicating a high confidence level that the Track is acoustic and 0 indicating that the Track is likely not acoustic. This metric considers various elements of the Track's sound, such as its instrumentation, sound production, and the overall atmosphere of the recording.
DanceabilityDanceability is a metric that estimates how likely it is for a Track to make listeners want to dance. The score is determined by analyzing a Track's rhythmic patterns, beat strength, and tempo. A score of 0.0 represents no danceability, while a score of 1.0 represents a highly danceable Track. This information can help identify Tracks suitable for dance or party environments.
EnergyEnergy is an attribute that describes a Track's dynamic and intense qualities. The higher the energy value, the more intense, fast, and noisy the Track is perceived to be. This attribute is determined by various musical elements such as loudness, timbre, entropy, onset rate, and dynamic range.
IntrumentalnessInstrumentalness is a metric that ranges from 0.0 to 1.0 and represents the likelihood that a Track contains no vocals. A value close to 1.0 indicates high confidence that the Track is instrumental, while values above 0.5 are intended to represent instrumental Tracks. This metric is used to identify Tracks containing no vocal content, including "ooh" and "aah" sounds, while differentiating them from rap or spoken word Tracks.
LivenessLiveness is a metric that ranges from 0.0 to 1.0 and indicates the presence of an audience in the Track. A high liveness value (above 0.8) suggests that the Track was recorded live, while a low liveness value suggests that the Track was recorded in a studio environment. This metric can provide valuable insights into a Track's recording process and live performance.
SpeechinessSpeechiness detects the presence of spoken words in a Track. The more exclusively speech-like the recording (e.g., talk show, audiobook, poetry), the closer to 1.0 the attribute value. Values above 0.66 describe tracks that are probably made entirely of spoken words. Values between 0.33 and 0.66 describe Tracks that may contain music and speech, either in sections or layered, including such cases as rap music. Values below 0.33 most likely represent music and other non-speech-like Tracks.
ValenceValence is a metric that describes the musical positivity conveyed by a Track, ranging from 0.0 to 1.0. Tracks with high valence sound more cheerful, while Tracks with low valence sound more negative and sad. This attribute provides insight into the emotional tone of a Track and can be used to curate playlists with specific moods.
