What is a Track?

A Track (also known as a "Sound Recording") is a Music Asset that an Organization owns or exploits under license.


Tracks List

Where can find the Tracks List?

To display the Tracks list, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Assets" section, and click on the "Tracks" list.

The Tracks List displays several columns by default, including:

You can add or remove additional columns using the optional Custom Columns feature.


Adding a Track

To add a Track, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Assets" section, and click on the "Tracks" list.

At the top right of the list, click the orange "New Track" button and select "Manual Entry".

A pop-up window will open to enter the necessary data for the new Track:

Once filled in, to save the new Track, click the orange "Save" button at the bottom right of the pop-up window. The new Track will be opened in a new panel and displayed in the "Tracks" list.

Click the grey "Cancel" button to cancel the action.

Warning

We do not recommend creating orphaned Tracks, i.e. without including them in an Album, except when you are solely using the Music Sharing solution. It is not possible to create Releases or calculate Royalties without Albums.


Adding Tracks in bulk with Spreadsheets

To add Tracks in bulk, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Assets" section, and click on the "Tracks" list.

Click the orange "New Track" button and then hit "Import from a Spreadsheet" at the top right of the list.

Editing a Track

To edit a Track, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Assets" section, and click on the "Tracks" list.

Find the Track to edit in the list and click on its name. This will open the Track panel.

Click on the "Edit" button at the top right of the list. This will open a pop-up window at the right of the Workspace to edit the Track metadata.

To save, click the orange "Save" button at the bottom right of the pop-up window.

Click the grey "Cancel" button to cancel the action.


Editing Tracks in bulk

To edit Tracks in bulk, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Assets" section, and click on the "Tracks" list.

Select one or more Tracks in the list, right-click (or, when hovering over the Tracks, click on the three dots on the right side), and then click on the "Edit" action in the opened contextual menu.

This will open a pop-up window at the right of the Workspace to mass edit the selected Tracks' metadata. Please visit the Mass Edit article to learn more about this feature.

To save, click the orange "Save" button at the bottom right of the pop-up window.

Click the grey "Cancel" button to cancel the action.


Deleting a Track

To delete a Track, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Assets" section, and click on the "Tracks" list.

Find the Track to edit in the list and click on its name. This will open the Track panel.

Click on the arrow icon behind the "Edit" button at the top right of the list and click on "Delete".

This will open a pop-up browser alert at the top of the Workspace.

To stop the action, click the "Cancel" button.

Click on the "OK" button to confirm the deletion.


Deleting Tracks in bulk

To delete Tracks in bulk, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Assets" section, and click on the "Tracks" list.

Select one or more Tracks in the list, right-click (or, when hovering over the Tracks, click on the three dots on the right side), and then click on the "Delete" action in the opened contextual menu.

This will open a pop-up browser alert at the top of the Workspace.

To stop the action, click the "Cancel" button.

Click on the "OK" button to confirm the deletion.
