Record Labels

What is a Record Label?

An "Record Label" (also known as a "Label" or a "Producer" ) is a type of Music Contributor.

Where can find the Record Labels List?

To display the Record Labels list, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Contributors" section, and click on the "Record Labels" list.

The Record Labels List displays several columns by default, including:

NameThe Name of the Record Label
Creation DateThe Creation Date of the Record Label

You can add or remove additional columns using the optional Custom Columns feature.


Adding a Record Label

Good to know

Generally, there is no need to add Record Labels one by one as they are usually created on the fly when adding Assets.

To add a Record Label, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Contributors" section, and click on the "Record Labels" list.

At the top right of the list, click the orange "New Record Label" button.

A pop-up window will open to enter the necessary data for the new Record Label:

Once filled in, to save the new Record Label, click the orange "Save" button at the bottom right of the pop-up window. The new Record Label will be opened in a new panel and displayed in the "Record Labels" list.

Click the grey "Cancel" button to cancel the action.


Adding Record Labels in Bulk

We do not provide solutions to add Record Labels in bulk because they are created on the fly when importing Assets in bulk.


Editing a Record Label

To edit a Record Label, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Contributors" section, and click on the "Record Labels" list.

Find the Record Label to edit in the list and click on its name. This will open the Record Label panel.

Click on the "Edit" button at the top right of the list. This will open a pop-up window at the right of the Workspace to edit the Record Label metadata.

To save, click the orange "Save" button at the bottom right of the pop-up window.

Click the grey "Cancel" button to cancel the action.


Editing Record Labels in Bulk

To edit Record Labels in bulk, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Contributors" section, and click on the "Record Labels" list.

Select one or more Record Labels in the list, right-click (or, when hovering over the track, click on the three dots on the right side), and then click on the "Edit" action in the opened contextual menu.

This will open a pop-up window at the right of the Workspace to mass-edit the selected Record Labels' metadata. Please visit the Mass Edit article to learn more about this feature.

To save, click the orange "Save" button at the bottom right of the pop-up window.

Click the grey "Cancel" button to cancel the action.


Deleting a Record Label

To delete a Record Label, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Contributors" section, and click on the "Record Labels" list.

Find the Record Label to edit in the list and click on its name. This will open the Record Label panel.

Click on the arrow icon behind the "Edit" button at the top right of the list and click on "Delete".

This will open a pop-up browser alert at the top of the Workspace.

To stop the action, click the "Cancel" button.

Click on the "OK" button to confirm the deletion.


Deleting Record Labels in bulk

To delete Record Labels in bulk, go to the navigation menu located at the left of the Workspace, click on the "Catalog Management" icon, browse to the "Contributors" section, and click on the "Record Labels" list.

Select one or more Record Labels in the list, right-click (or, when hovering over the Record Label, click on the three dots on the right side), and then click on the "Delete" action in the opened contextual menu.

This will open a pop-up browser alert at the top of the Workspace.

To stop the action, click the "Cancel" button.

Click on the "OK" button to confirm the deletion.
