Catalogs

What is a Catalog?

A Catalog is usually a collection of Assets owned or managed by a Record Label or Music Publisher under a specific brand name. An Organization can therefore manage several Catalogs, giving the possibility of virtually isolate them from each other.
Please note when you create an account, a Catalog is automatically created and named after the account.

Adding a Catalog

To add a new Catalog, go to the navigation menu on the left, open the "Properties" section and click on the "Catalogs" list. Then click on the orange button "New Catalog" located at the top right of the list.
A pop-up window will open to enter the necessary metadata to add a new Catalog.

Enter the name of the Catalog
To save the new Catalog, click on the orange button "Save" located at the bottom right of the pop-up window. The new Catalog will then be immediately available in the "Catalogs" list. To stop the action, click on the grey "Cancel" button next to it.

Adding Catalogs in bulk

We did not consider developing a tool to add Catalogs in bulk to be necessary.

Editing Catalogs

To edit a Catalog, go to the navigation menu on the left, open the "Properties" section and click on the "Catalogs" list. Select a Catalog in the list, point them and click right (or click on the three dots icon
located on the right side of the line when you hover it) and then click on the "Edit" action in the opened contextual menu.
This will open a pop-up at the right of the Workspace to bulk edit the Catalogs metadata. To learn more about the "Mass Actions" feature, follow the link below:
To save the modification(s), click on the orange "Save" button located at the bottom right of the pop-up window. The modification(s) will then be immediately available in the Catalogs list. To stop the action, click the gray "Cancel" button next to it.

Merging Catalogs

To merge Catalogs, select them in the list, click right, and then click on the "Merge" action in the opened contextual menu. A pop-up menu will open, giving access to the merging tool.
In the list on the left, choose the Catalog you want to keep by hovering over the names and clicking on "Keep this one". All the Catalogs listed on the left will be merged under the Catalog displayed on the right. Be careful, Catalogs on the left will be irreversibly deleted after that you you confirm the merge action.

Deleting Catalogs

To delete a Catalog (or several at a time), select it (or them) in a List, right-click, then click on the "Delete" action in the context menu that opens. Confirm the request in the dialog box that appears to immediately delete the Catalog. Be careful, deleting a Catalog is an irreversible action.
If the following notification appears: "This Catalog can't be deleted because it's linked to other resources in your account.", you need to remove this Catalog from all Assets that he has been associated with. Tip: use the Advanced Filters feature on lists in which the Catalog you want to delete has been added and remove it from all the Assets to which it is assigned.
